| Quick Overview | Winter melon belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family, commonly used in Vietnam, Thailand, India, and other tropical countries for traditional medicine. It contains amino acids, mucins, minerals, vitamins B and C. Research on this fruit has identified two types of triterpenes alunsenol and mutiflorenol which have potent antioxidant effects. According to traditional medicine, winter melon can cool off the inside heat, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. From that, it helps to control comedonal acne, inflammatory acne, and burn marks. |
