Wondaleaf Adhesive Pouch can be used as mechanical barrier to cover and protect catheter sites, minor wounds, and post-operative wounds (healed by primary intention), as a secondary dressing, to secure or waterproof medical devices connected to the body such as catheters, PICC lines, or external fixators, to encapsulate and waterproof a digit or protrusion, as a reservoir for medication, as a drain for discharges to flow away from.
| Quick Overview | A transparent film dressing is a sheet, i.e., in two dimensions of see-through material, generally polyurethane, which is identical to Wondaleaf Flat Dressing material, available in a wide variety of shapes and sizes to conform to different wounds. In theory, these dressings are transparent to allow for monitoring of healing progress and presence of infection- whilst isolating the wound site from the external environment. But they need a pad in in the middle to prevent direct contact of adhesive on the wound, thus unable to allow direct visualization of the wound. So far there has not been an adhesive dressing that addresses this clinical dilemma per se. WLAP addresses this clinical dilemma by forming a space above the wound site separate from the external environment. This allows for collection of potential exudates while allowing for direct visualization. |
