Maalox is used for stomach ulcer, inflammation or irritation of the stomach, esophagus, gastric hyperacidity (excess production of stomach acid), heartburn, hiatal hernia.

| Direction for Use | FOR USE IN ADULTS ONLY (aged 15 years and over). 1 to 2 sachets per intake when heartburn or acid regurgitation occurs. Maalox oral suspension may be taken 20 minutes to one hour after meals and at bedtime or as required. |

| Contra Indication | Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of the product. Severe renal insufficiency, as the medicinal product contains magnesium. |
| Caution | In patients with renal insufficiency or undergoing chronic dialysis, the Aluminium content must be taken into account (risk of encephalopathy). If disorders persist after 10 days of treatment or worsen, the cause should be investigated and the treatment reassessed. This medicinal product contains 3.15 g of sucrose per sachet; this should be taken into consideration as part of the daily allowance. |
