Itch no more

Do you  know how to take care of your sensitive skin or you are just blindly following the things that the online world tells you? So today, if you are having dry, itchy or sensitive skin, this live is for you! We will be bringing you to explore and understand  your skin type better!

We will be addressing some misconception of skincare :

1) Washing your skin with warmer / hot water will open the pores of our skin so that it can absorb more moisture

Doctor: Skin pores are oil/sweat glands and will not just open or close, we need to clean the pores. UV can also damage skin and pores may then be opened

2) Clean Beauty Products defined as Natural, Organic Products & "Chemical-Free" Products

Doctor: Some ingredients can cause bad allergic reactions too eg essential oils.

Does not mean organic or natural products are non-allergenic.

It is important to test or dilute before using the products to do a patch test first. How to do patch test? Apply diluted product under the jaw or arm where it is not visible. Sotp using if there is redness, blistering or roughness.

3) Using water to cleanse your body can help to avoid to trigger sensitive / eczema flare ups?

Doctor: Water alone will not be able to clean the dirt alone, using the right ingredients will only bring benefit but not harm because if you have sensitive skin, it is important to use the right ingredients

4) How to minimise the chances of getting flares from sensitive & eczema skin?

Doctor: Cannot use harsh products, look for gentle products, free from preservative, colour, fragrances and PH closest to skin

5)  How to choose the right body wash for sensitive skin?

Doctor: Find products with  moisturising ingredients eg Shea butter and also Menthol which has a cooling effect.
