A good way to determine whether you’re at healthy weight for your height is by calculating your BMI (Body Mass Index). BMI = kg/m2 where kg is a person's weight in kilograms and m2 is their height in metres squared.
BMI Categories
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
Overweight = 25–29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
Generally, the higher your BMI, the bigger the potential risk to your health. It is important to note that the BMI classifications are not useful for children or people who are very fit and muscular. What does your BMI mean? A BMI of over 30 is classified as being obese. A BMI of 25 or over is classed as being overweight.
