General FAQs: Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag)

1. Are all the RTK – Ag listed approved by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM)?

Yes, all the RTK – Ag listed in Guardian are conditional approved by the Medical Devices Authority (MDA) which is a Federal Statutory Agency under the Ministry of Health Malaysia to be home-test kit.

2. Who should get tested?

Symptomatic individual should get tested. Individual should also get tested even if he or she does not have symptoms, in the case of:

have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive

to check prior to travel or for work purposes

have been travelled to a high-risk location or settings

3. What should I do if I tested positive?

Report to KKM through MySejahtera Apps on the test result.

Self-quarantine from your family members or anyone you live with to prevent the spread of the virus. Get you family members to test as well.

Inform your close contact(s)

4. What should I do if I tested negative?

Monitor for symptoms and repeat the test with a new test kit at least 7 days after the exposure or if symptoms developed or persist.

Continue to practice SOP and preventive measures.

5. What should I do if I have symptoms of COVID-19 but tested with negative RTK – Ag result?

Symptomatic patients with negative RTK-Ag results shall be tested with PCR test (Gold Standard for Covid Infection Stage Diagnosis). False negative results in RTK-Ag would happen in case of low viral load which can be detected through PCR test.

6. Storage Temperature

To store between 2-30 Degree Celsius (cool and dry place)

Avoid prolonged exposure to high heat

Do not need to keep in the fridge
